A Goldsboro man was charged with several felonies after officers pulled him over during a traffic stop and found 2,666 bags of heroin inside the car he was driving.
Adrian Devonta Warren, 23, of 501 Woodrow St., was charged with two counts of felony level III trafficking in opium or heroin, one count of felony maintaining a dwelling, vehicle or place for the use, storage or sale of a controlled substance and one count of speeding.
Warren was pulled over Tuesday for speeding by members of the Wayne County Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team and Wayne County Drug Unit.
Maj. Tom Effler said officers that stopped Warren saw him throw a package out of the car window before he pulled over.
Officers stopped Warren on a section of the new U.S. 70 Bypass, and found three ounces of heroin packaged inside 2,666 individual bags, which is estimated to have a street value of $53,000.
Warren is in the Wayne County Jail under a $2 million secured bond.
