A Dudley man was arrested by sheriff's deputies Saturday on allegations of manufacturing marijuana, according to a press release from the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
David Lawrence Dennington, 68, of 101 Eagle Ridge Road, was charged with six counts of manufacturing marijuana, possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, maintaining a dwelling and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies found six marijuana plants inside Dennington's home.
Deputies responded to a disturbance call at 101 Eagle Ridge Road Saturday, and learned after they arrived that Dennington was allegedly growing marijuana inside his house.
Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said Dennington signed a consent to search form, and deputies searched the residence. Upon searching the house, deputies found six large marijuana plants, the press release says.
Effler said deputies could have received information that Dennington allegedly had marijuana inside his home any number of ways.
"I'm guessing they responded to the disturbance call and they were able to obtain information on it -- I don't know how, but even just growing marijuana has a pretty strong smell to it," Effler said.
Dennington was taken to the Wayne County magistrates office and given a $7,500 unsecured bond.
