Authorities are searching for a suspect accused of breaking in a hog house and stealing hogs.
William Jackson, owner of Dexten Jackson Farms Inc., told Wayne County sheriff's deputies that his employee, David Ramirez, discovered a turned-on water pump and a damaged door of the hog house located at 122 Cox Pond Road, Mount Olive, on Monday.
Jackson reports the unknown suspect stole 22 hogs estimated at $13.50 each.
According to the report, patrol vehicles were unable to drive to the hog farm due to the vehicles possibly being stuck.
Maj. Tom Effler with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said there is no suspect and no other information at this time.
