A continuing investigation into the May 8 robbery of Wayne Pharmacy led to two more arrests this week.
Jesus Luis Fonseca, of 3708 Wayne Memorial Drive, was arrested and charged with three counts of trafficking in opiates, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Fonseca was previously arrested in connection to the robbery during a May 18 traffic stop on N.C. 44.
According to a press release from the Goldsboro Police Department, Fonseca was released following the traffic stop after he posted bond and then began selling oxycodone pills that were stolen from Wayne Pharmacy.
During a search of Fonseca's residence, authorities found about 100 oxycodone pills, a stolen firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Fonseca was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1.55 million secured bond.
Also arrested in connection to the robbery was Maria Ivett Deleon, of 328 Mobile Circle, Dudley.
During a search of Ms. Deleon's residence, authorities found roughly 1,400 oxycodone pills.
Ms. Deleon was charged with trafficking opiates by possession and placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $150,000 secured bond.
In total, approximately 1,500 pills were recovered that are believed to have been stolen from Wayne Pharmacy on May 8.
The Goldsboro Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Raleigh office of the United States Drug Enforcement Administration worked in tandem to make the arrests.
Three other men were charged in connection with the May 8 robbery of the local pharmacy.
Edgar Angel Toledano, of 503 Linen Lane, and Jesus Reymundo Toledano, of 2251 Grantham School Road, Mount Olive, were arrested on May 18 during a traffic stop and each charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony trafficking a schedule I controlled substance. Jesus was also charged with felony probation violation and placed under a $320,000 secured bond, while Edgar was placed under a $300,000 bond.
Jaime Elias Toledano, of 3708 Wayne Memorial Drive, was also arrested during the traffic stop and charged with trafficking a schedule I controlled substance.
The robbery happened on Sunday, May 8, about 1:10 p.m.
Two of the men that have since been arrested allegedly entered the pharmacy wearing masks, brandishing handguns, and ordered employees and customers to lie down on the ground before fleeing the scene.
