Deputies promoted

Wayne County Sheriff Larry Pierce recently announced the promotions of several deputies. The sheriff explained that the recent retirements of other deputies has opened up opportunities to other deputies to apply for new positions. The deputies awarded the promotions are:
* First Sgt. Chris Peedin was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Peedin will be assigned to the Patrol Division. Peedin has been employed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office since December 1999.
* Deputy Mitchell Jones was been promoted to the rank of sergeant and is assigned to the Civil Division. Mitchell has approximately 30 years of law enforcement experience having worked previously for the Sheriff's Office and the Cherry Hospital Police.
* Corp. Doug Honeycutt has been promoted to the rank of sergeant and is assigned to the ACE Team. Honeycutt has been with the Sheriff's Office since January 2006.
* Deputy Matt Fishman was promoted to the rank of corporal and is assigned to the Patrol Division. Fishman has been employed at the Wayne County Sheriff's Office since December 2010. Previously he was employed by the Mount Olive Police Department for approximately six months.
* Deputy Jerimee Hooker has been promoted to the rank of corporal and is assigned to the ACE Team. Hooker has been employed with the Sheriff's Office since September 2008. He was previously employed at the Goldsboro Police Department for approximately two years.
"I am pleased to have qualified deputies to replace retiring personnel," said Sheriff Pierce.
