Murder suspect arrested

Billy Renaldo Hamm, 44, of 912 N. John St., was arrested Tuesday by the Montgomery County Police Department in Silver Spring, Md., in connection with a Jan. 9 shooting in Dudley that left one person dead and another injured.
Hamm initially provided a false name to Maryland authorities while they were investigating a trespassing allegation at a local business.
He was later identified by his fingerprint and in addition to several charges in Maryland he was charged on North Carolina warrants for first-degree murder; attempted first-degree murder; first-degree burglary; and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The shooting took place at 159 Sleepy Creek Road in Dudley, where Carlos Cesar Vasquez Luna, 47, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second person, Alfredo Garcias, 25, of the same address, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital Emergency Department and then to Vidant Hospital. He has recovered.

* Jerry Aundrey Parks, 41, 912 John St., first-degree murder; attempted first-degree murder; first-degree burglary; two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, no bond.
* Darius Lamar Chestnut, 35, 907 N. Carolina St., first-degree burglary and two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, $300,000 secure bond.
* Montrell Demontrin Allen, 41, 104 Jessica Place, first-degree burglary and two counts of attempted armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, $300,000 secure bond.
* Jennele Lea Howard Wall, 35, Room 8, Carolina Motel, 2316 N. William St. first-degree murder; attempted first-degree murder; attempted armed robbery; and first-degree burglary, no bond.
