Library storytelling Saturday

The Wayne County Public Library will holds its first ever storytelling festival Saturday. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn of the library at 1001 E. Ash St.
During the free family events, three different storytellers, who will tell stories about life on the farm.
One of the storytellers will be Priscilla Best, a retired teacher and media coordinator, who grew up on a farm in eastern North Carolina. She uses her classroom training and experiences to create stories that entertain, educate and inspire. She will be featured from 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Following Ms. Best from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. will be Antuan Hawkins, a children's librarian, who is also an actor, storyteller and singer from Kinston. He has taught middle school and private music classes, has performed in several off-Broadway productions, has co-starred in several independent movies, has written a one-act play and has shared the stage at the Duke University Miracle Network Benefit Concert with Jeff Foxworthy.
Ron Jones will be featured from 11:15 a.m. to noon. He has more than 30 years experience storytelling. He performs in schools, libraries and museums and at festivals throughout the country, Canada and Mexico. He has two CDs out. His series of original stories are for older children and adults and tickle the funny bone while pulling at the heartstrings.
The festival will take place, rain or shine. If it rains, it will be held inside the library.
