MOUNT OLIVE -- The 2016 N.C. Pickle Festival planning committee made it a goal to book a nationally known entertainment act for the Friday night concert this year, and that goal was met with the booking of The Voice star, RaeLynn.
RaeLynn will perform for the Friday night concert at the 30th annual N.C. Pickle Festival April 22.
The Blake Kearney band will open for the Academy of Country Music Awards nominee during the concert presented by Katie Country 97.7 as well.
Raelynn is best known for her 2012 competition on The Voice with Blake Shelton as her coach. And though, she was ultimately eliminated from the show that did not stop her from cameoing in Shelton's hit "Boys 'Round Here," which debuted at No. 67 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart.
She released her first single "God Made Girls" in 2014 and her most recent album "Me," made the top 5 on the iTunes Country Top Albums Chart.
She has opened on tours with Rascal Flatts and Miranda Lambert and has been nominated for female video of the year and breakthrough video of the year at the 2015 CMT Music Awards
The committee is anticipating nearly 1,500 people to attend the concert at the Mount Olive Airport, with gates opening at 7 p.m. with the Blake Kearney Band and Raelynn getting on stage at 9:30 p.m.
"We are so excited to have RaeLynn perform at the N.C. Pickle Festival," said Julie Beck, festival co-chairman, in a press release.
"She brings a fresh new dimension to our Friday night concert, and we look forward to having her here. We think it's also great to be able to watch RaeLynn at the ACM Awards and know that she will be here in Mount Olive just a few weeks later."
The Friday night concert ticket prices are $13.25 in advance, and $25 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ncpicklefest.org
Advance tickets can also be purchased in person at the Mount Olive Area Chamber of Commerce and at Katie Country 97.7 in Goldsboro. Overflow parking and a free shuttle will be available at the former IMPulseNC location on Old Mount Olive Highway.
Concessions will be available at the concert.
