Spring Creek pageant to be held Saturday

The ninth annual Miss Spring Creek Scholarship Pageant will be held at the Spring Creek Middle School Auditorium at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased from any contestant or Mrs. Kellie Davis at Spring Creek High School.
The contestants are:
* Cassie Alphin, a senior, will be performing a contemporary dance. She is the daughter of Van and Susan Alphin.
* Lexie Reyes, a senior, will be performing a flamenco dance. She is the daughter of Exiquio and Paula Reyes.
* Priscilla Morales-Lopez, a junior, will be performing a praise dance. She is the daughter of Ruben Garcia Juarez and Sondra Morales Lopez.
* Gabriela Borralles, a senior, will be performing a folkloric dance. She is the daughter of Paulin Hernandez and Ms. Blanca Borralles.
* Heather Dennington, a junior, will be performing a dramatic reading. Sher is the daughter of Rachel Dennington.
* Darian Mullins, a junior, will be performing a vocal solo. She is the daughter of Jeff Webster and Shawna Mullins.
* Ivet Carreño, a junior, will be performing a vocal solo. She is the daughter of Romualdo Carreño and Minerva Garcia.
Miss Spring Creek 2015, Maygan Jackson, will crown the new Miss Spring Creek 2016. Spring Creek will award a total of $3,000 in cash scholarships, payable to the college attended, to the top three contestants. Miss Spring Creek 2016 will also receive a $2,500 in-kind scholarship to the University of Mount Olive, $2,000 to the 1st runner up, and $1,500 to the 2nd runner up.
