Man shot, injured Sunday

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting Sunday at that left one man injured.
The shots were fired a few minutes past 3 a.m., outside a home on West Walnut Street, according to the police report.
John Oscar Mumford, 36, of Goldsboro, suffered a gunshot wound through the arm and remains in stable condition, Maj. Anthony Carmon said.
Neither the victim nor witnesses could identify who shot Mumford or why.
"When we find the suspect, we will find the motive," Carmon said.
According to the report, police officers were called to 613 W. Walnut St. at 3:10 a.m. for a reported shooting. Upon arrival they found Mumford lying on the sidewalk. Paramedics took Mumford to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment while police investigated the scene. No one could advise who shot him, the report said.
