A Goldsboro man faces several charges including breaking and entering and larceny following a Wayne County Sheriff's Office investigation dating back to August.

Timothy Scott Lucas, 36, 379 Combs Road, is charged with six counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Lucas' bond has been set at $200,000 secured.

According to a Sheriff's Office press release, Lucas is responsible for break-ins at homes in the northern part of Wayne County that were either under construction or vacant and for sale.

Appliances -- including stoves, washers and dryers and other household items -- were reported stolen in each case, prompting the sheriff's office to increase patrols in that part of the county.

During the week of Dec. 7, the Sheriff's Office began to receive information about items for sale that matched the description of the stolen property. Detectives and members of the Aggressive Crime Enforcement team began a joint investigation that resulted in a search warrant being secured for Lucas' home.

On Dec. 17, the SWAT team made entry to the home and cleared the residence prior to investigators entering the residence. Numerous items were located inside the home and on the back porch, according to the press release.

Among the items found were appliances, a bathroom sink, molding and a small amount of controlled substances and drug paraphernalia.

Several people found in the home where the search warrant was served were detained and taken to the Sheriff's Office annex to be interviewed. Following the interviews, Lucas was charged with two of the break-ins and was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $100,00 secured bond.

The investigation continued, resulting in Lucas being charged with four additional break-ins and his bond was doubled.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges -- against Lucas and other remaining suspects -- are pending, according to the press release.
