4th Fighter Wing commander Col. Mark Slocum and former 4th Fighter Wing commander Col. Jeanie Leavitt have been nominated by President Obama to become Air Force brigadier generals.
They are among 36 Air Force colonels nominated by the president to receive their first star. The nominations were announced Tuesday by Defense Secretary Ash Carter.
The announcement follows the Nov. 23 announcement of the nominations of 20 Air Force officers for general officer promotions.
Leavitt is currently serving as principal military assistant to the Secretary of Defense in the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon.
