Police investigate armed robbery of beauty supply store

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at a local beauty supply store Friday evening.
The robbery took place at 6:18 p.m., according to a police report.
Employees at Duke's Discount Beauty Supply, 513 E. Ash St., said a black man wearing a black hoodie with the hood pulled up and a camouflage mask over his face entered the store armed with a black handgun and demanded money, the report said.
The suspect also wore black jeans, black gloves and white sneakers.
An employee handed the suspect $400 from the register and $1,500 from his pocket, according to the report. Another employee gave the suspect his wallet, which contained $15. A third employee was also inside the store at the time of the robbery, but she remained in the back room and was not harmed.
The suspect then left the store and headed West on foot, the report said.
