Polls open Tuesday at 6 a.m.

Wayne County elections officials are expecting a 10 to 13 percent voter turnout for Tuesday's municipal and sanitary district races. However, weather could play a role in the number of voters who cast ballots.
Polls will be open Tuesday from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m.
"We were doing pretty good (in vote-stop voting)," Wayne Elections Director Dane Beavers said this morning. "But they are calling for rain all day and on Tuesday. My guess is that will have a big impact.
"We had been on the way to 10 to 13 percent, based on one stop and previous election cycles similar to this one."
Beavers said people who typically vote in these type of elections will still get out to vote despite the bad weather.
During eight days of one-stop early voting 878 voters cast their ballots.
In some municipal and sanitary district races not as many candidates filed even though there are seats up for election. Those empty seats traditionally have been filled by write-in votes.
These are the candidates whose names will appear on the ballot:
GOLDSBORO
Mayor: Chuck Allen and Myelle Thompson
District 1: Michael Headen (incumbent) and Antonio M. Williams
District 2: Bill Broadaway (incumbent) and Troy Mitchell
District 3: Mark A. Stevens and (Van) Arthur Anderson
District 4: Charles J. Williams (incumbent) and Bevan J. Foster
District 5: David Ham (running unopposed)
District 6: Gene Aycock (incumbent) and Linda Harper
MOUNT OLIVE
Mayor: Ray McDonald Sr. (incumbent)
At-large: Ray Thompson (incumbent) and Jerry L. Harper
District 1: Kenneth Kyle Talton (incumbent)
District 2: Harlie Jr. Carmichael and Danny King
District 3: Tom Preston (incumbent)
District 4: Joe Scott (incumbent)
EUREKA
No one filed for the three at-large board seats.
FREMONT
Mayor: W. Darron Flowers (incumbent) and Keith L. Spivey
District 1: Al Lewis (incumbent)
District 2: Leon Mooring (incumbent)
District 3: W.T. Smith (incumbent)
District 4: Harold Cuddington (incumbent) and Joyce Monica Artis
District 5: Joyce C. Reid (incumbent)
District 6: Annie Lewis (incumbent)
PIKEVILLE
Commissioner, three at-large seats: Charles Hooks III, Robert Hooks and Steve West (all incumbents)
Commissioner, two at-large unexpired terms: Lyman G. Galloway (incumbent)

Mayor: Stephen Potter
Commissioner, three at-large seats: Karla Griffin (incumbent)
WALNUT CREEK
Councilman, three at-large seats: Cyndi Fallin Dupuy, Danny Jackson (currently serving as mayor) and Greg Ricker (incumbent).
SANITARY DISTRICTS
The sanitary district elections are:
Fork Township: Two at-large seats: Andy G. Hartley (incumbent), David Jackson (incumbent), Russell Lee Wiggins, Jane Lee Williford, Sherwood E. Daily and Beverly Perkins Keen
Northwestern Wayne: Five at-large seats: Walter Fred Bridgers, James S. Kirby, David Pittman and Danny Tillman (all incumbents)
Southern Wayne: Three at-large seats: Scott T. Ingram, Jesse Jernigan, Kevin Jones, Efton Sager and Marty Shaw (incumbent)
Southwestern Wayne: Five at-large seats: David A. Bennett, Jimmy B. Cox, Alan Lumpkin, Ruby Gail Minchew and Daryll E. Overton (all incumbents).
