Southern Bank Foundation donates $80,000 to University of Mount Olive

MOUNT OLIVE -- Southern Bank Foundation recently presented a check for $80,000 to the University of Mount Olive for its annual fund.

The check represents the final payment in a $400,000 pledge made by the foundation to the university in 2011.

"The Southern Bank Foundation has been and continues to be a wonderful friend and collaborative partner to the University of Mount Olive," UMO President Dr. Philip P. Kerstetter said."We look forward to further collaboration with the Southern Bank Foundation as together we build a brighter future for the students of eastern North Carolina and beyond."

The University of Mount Olive is a private institution rooted in the liberal arts tradition with defining Christian values.

The university, sponsored by the Convention of Original Free Will Baptists, has locations in Mount Olive, New Bern, Wilmington, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Research Triangle Park, Washington, Jacksonville, and in Smithfield at Johnston Community College.
