One-stop early voting ahead of the Nov. 3 municipal and sanitary district elections starts Thursday, Oct. 22, and continues through Saturday, Oct. 31, at the Wayne County Board of Elections office, 209 S. William St.

Eligible individuals may register and vote during one-stop voting period.

One-stop voting hours will be Thursday and Friday, Oct. 22 and 23, and Monday, Oct. 26, through Friday, Oct. 30, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and Saturday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day, Nov. 3.

In some municipal and sanitary district races not as many candidates filed as there are seats up for election. Those empty seats traditionally have been filled by write-in votes.

GOLDSBORO

Mayor: Chuck Allen, Myelle Thompson and D.A. Stuart (write-in candidate)

District 1: Michael Headen (incumbent) and Antonio M. Williams

District 2: Bill Broadaway (incumbent) and Troy Mitchell

Councilman, three at-large seats: Cyndi Fallin Dupuy, Danny Jackson (currently serving as mayor) and Greg Ricker (incumbent).

The sanitary district elections are:

Fork Township: Two at-large seats: Andy G. Hartley (incumbent), David Jackson (incumbent), Russell Lee Wiggins, Jane Lee Williford, Sherwood E. Daily and Beverly Perkins Keen

Northwestern Wayne: Five at-large seats: Walter Fred Bridgers, James S. Kirby, David Pittman and Danny Tillman (all incumbents)

Southern Wayne: Three at-large seats: Scott T. Ingram, Jesse Jernigan, Kevin Jones, Efton Sager and Marty Shaw (incumbent)

Southwestern Wayne: Five at-large seats: David A. Bennett, Jimmy B. Cox, Alan Lumpkin, Ruby Gail Minchew and Daryll E. Overton (all incumbents).
