Sharon Gaskin, most recently associate dean of admissions at Elon University School of Law, has been named the new director of enrollment management at Kingswood Oxford.
Gaskin, a native of Goldsboro, holds degrees in French and education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a law degree from Campbell University.
Starting in 2007, she held positions of increasing responsibility at Elon's law school. In addition to reviewing applications and interviewing candidates, she also introduced processes that reduced paperwork and increased efficiency. She also managed strategic planning, developed enrollment and retention models and increased the school's social media presence.
She was often tapped as a speaker at national law school admission conferences.
"Sharon brings an impressive, unique and versatile background as well as exceptional leadership to our already strong admissions office," said Head of School Dennis Bisgaard. "I am thrilled that she has joined the KO family."
Before working at Elon, Gaskin taught middle and high school French in Greensboro for five years and ran her own law practice for 10 years. Since 2009 she also has been an adjunct professor at North Carolina A&T State University.
