Man wounded in leg; firearm recovered

A Goldsboro man was able to call 911 Tuesday night after being shot in the leg outside an apartment at 108 Terrace Court, located off of North John Street a few blocks short of Dixie Trail.
Goldsboro police and paramedics located the man sitting in his 2004 Ford Taurus with a bullet wound in his right leg.
Corey Ramone Best Jr. did not proved a description or name of a suspect in the shooting, but police officers recovered a stolen firearm from the driveway of the residence outside which Best had been shot, according to the report.
The firearm, a .45 caliber Versa Firestorm handgun, was reported stolen from a vehicle outside a residence on Leslie Road in February of this year.
Wayne County EMS took Best to Wayne Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The firearm was seized as evidence.
