PIKEVILLE -- Police responded to a traffic accident with injuries Thursday afternoon, Aug. 6, in the vicinity of Big Daddy's Road and Goldsboro Street.
When officers arrived, the driver of the at-fault vehicle had fled the scene on foot.
Officers, with the assistance of Wayne County Sheriff's deputies, were able to locate Robert Eddie Langley, 34, without incident.
It was determined that Langley was under the influence of an impairing substance at the time of the accident, Pikeville police said.
He was charged with felony hit-and-run, felony injury by motor vehicle, driving while license revoked and driving while impaired, both misdemeanors.
Langley was placed under a $20,000 secured bond.
The people injured in the wreck were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.
