Hospital hearing on expansion Aug. 19

Wayne Memorial Hospital has filed an application with the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section of the N.C. Division of Health Service Regulation to renovate and expand space for surgical and endoscopy services and develop two new hybrid operating rooms in Wayne County.
A public hearing for this project will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 10 a.m. in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium of the Wayne County Public Library at 1001 East Ash St.
The project is expected to cost $34.4 million and to be complete in October 2018.
Anyone may file written comments concerning this proposal. Comments must be received by the Healthcare Planning and Certificate of Need Section no later than 5:30 p.m. on July 31.
