A drug investigation conducted by the Wayne County Drug Task Force earlier this week resulted in three arrests and the seizure of an undisclosed amount of heroin, according to a sheriff's office press release.
Two suspects were arrested in their Old Grantham Road residence and another person was arrested following a traffic stop.
Adrian Jules Holbrook, 24, and Tammy Barber Kornegay, 51, both of 774 Old Grantham Road, are charged with a single count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin, sale and delivery of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Holbrook was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center under at $2,500 secured bond. Ms. Kornegay's bond was set at $1,000 secured.
According to the press release, the arrests came on the heels of a traffic stop conducted by the drug squad. Officers stopped a vehicle leaving from a suspected drug house during which drugs were discovered in the car.
Adam Thornton McLamb, 27, 3074 Old Mount Olive Highway, is charged with possession of heroin. According to the press release, McLamb was stopped due to a traffic violation after leaving the suspected drug house. Drug squad officers then obtained a search warrant for the residence which led to the arrests of Holbrook and Ms. Kornegay.
