Russell Smith, 87, relaxes in the shade of a tree in front of his home on Berkeley Boulevard near the corner of Tommy's Road Tuesday while he waits for customers to buy some of his fresh produce. Smith farms two gardens near his home with the occasional help of his wife, Hazel, 82, to bring in a little extra money. They are currently selling watermelon, peas, peaches and okra. He said, "I've never done anything but farm, all my life."
