The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a residential break-in that took place in broad daylight Thursday in the 1700 block of Peachtree Street.
A resident spent the morning shopping and returned home that afternoon to find a rear door to his residence had been kicked open, according to the report.
Once inside, the resident, Tony Ray Webb, 61, discovered several items missing. More than $6,110 in jewelry, watches and coins were taken from inside the home.
So far, investigators have no suspects and have no further information to report.
"Nothing than what is on the report at this time," Maj. Anthony Carmon said.
"I have to remind the shifts that a lot of the residential break-ins happen during the daytime while everybody is at work," Carmon said.
Among the items taken were a Bulova, a Seiko, and a gold pocket watch worth $3,000.
