Girl, 11, hit by car in Duplin

MOUNT OLIVE -- An 11-year-old girl is in critical condition after being struck by car while riding her bicycle late Monday afternoon on Norwood Ezzell Road southeast of Mount Olive in Duplin County.
Emily Craft was riding her bicycle after school when the accident happened.
Duplin County State Highway Patrol officials said a car driven by Betty Sue Anderson, 41, of Mount Olive was traveling south on Norwood Ezzell Road and that Emily was traveling east across the road and rode into the path of the car at 6:42 p.m.
Emily was taken to Vidant Duplin in Kenansville and then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
No charges are expected.
