After eluding capture for more than a month, the man the Wayne County Sheriff's Office says stole and then sold an ATV in late April is in custody.
Allen Duane Gore, 25, 599 Overman Road, is charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen goods and felony conversion.
He was placed in the Wayne County Detention Center Sunday and held under a $2,000 secured bond.
Gore was being sought in connection with a woman arrested May 20 -- his girlfriend, Charley Lynn Wiggs, 25 -- who was found camping in the woods behind Gore's home. According to a press release regarding Ms. Wiggs' arrest, Gore stole an ATV from a Wayne County residence on April 21. He then took the vehicle to Dudley and sold it to another man.
The purchaser of the ATV, Antonio Montrel Thompson, 35, was caught on video riding the ATV and later arrested. Thompson refused to implicate Gore, however, and was charged with possession of stolen property.
Ms. Wiggs, charged with forgery in a case regarding stolen checks, was allegedly camping out with Gore in the woods off of Overmann Road after the two had been kicked out of his grandmother's home.
She was found by deputies using a K-9 unit, but Gore was not present at the time of her arrest.
Gore was taken into custody at 11:10 a.m. Sunday at the Wayne County Magistrate's Office.
His next court appearance is scheduled for June 15.
