Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department are working to identify a group of young black men who forced their way into a woman's home at about 1 a.m. this morning and robbed her at gunpoint.
The victim, a 45-year-old female, was not injured during the incident.
According to the report, the suspects entered the residence at 402 S. William St. through the front door, which was left unlocked. The victim was robbed at gunpoint of $80 in cash, a wallet and a black Android cell phone valued at $80.
The suspects wore black clothing, long sleeves, masks and gloves, the report said.
Maj. Anthony Carmon said finding the men responsible for the armed robbery is going to come down to "good old-fashioned police work" on behalf of his investigators.
"They're going to have try to find people that witnessed it, people that know what happened," he said.
Carmon said the suspects covered up to keep from leaving behind physical evidence.
"Everybody watches television. They know if they are not covered up we're going to get some forensics," he said.
No further description of the suspects was listed on the report other than their clothing and that they were about 20 years old.
