A Eureka man is being held in the Wayne County Detention Center under a $75,000 bond on charges of stealing and trying to sell tractors.
Michael Lee Mooring, 33, 110 E. Main St., is charged with felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, obtaining property by false pretense and misdemeanor attempted larceny.
The theft was reported Nov. 14, 2014.
According to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office press release, two tractors at a combined value of $9,000 were reported stolen in the northern part of Wayne County.
One of the tractors was discovered to have been sold to Goldsboro Iron and Metal.
The investigation continued and on Sunday, Mooring tried to sell a pull behind plow disc to a potential buyer but was confronted by the property owner.
Mooring was charged with attempted larceny and with the earlier theft of the two tractors. He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County District Court May 4.
