ROSE HILL -- Duplin Winery of Rose Hill will host its fourth annual Our Main Squeeze Festival on May 2.
The gates will open at 10 a.m., festivities will start at 11 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.
The event will be held at the Duplin County Events Center and is open to the public.
The Our Main Squeeze Festival honors our nation's military, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Fisher House, a non-profit organization providing a network of homes where military families can stay near their ill or injured family members.
The festival showcases Duplin County's native grapes. Festivities include food, live music and Duplin wine. Vendors will be on-site with a variety of handmade crafts, beer, and food available for purchase.
Tickets for the general public will be $15 in advance and $20 the day of the event at the gate. However, members of Duplin Winery's Heritage Club will be entitled to a special reduced ticket price of $10 in advance. Free tickets will be available to the first 2,000 members of the military with a military ID.
Throughout the day, there will be a variety of live music performances. Beach music will be played by Jim Quick and Coastline Band from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and The Band of Oz from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. The Liquid Pleasure Super Show, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., will feature performances of a wide variety of classic tunes released over five decades by more than 60 artists, including Etta James, Bette Midler, Stevie Wonder, Miley Cyrus, Martina McBride, Pink and The Pussycat Dolls.
The award-winning Duplin Winery is known for its "cool, sweet and easy" sipping wines, and more than 100,000 guests tour the Rose Hill winery each year. Its relaxed and fun-filled wine tasting tours are popular with locals and people in the region who travel to coastal North Carolina.
"We're happy to be hosting our fourth annual Our Main Squeeze Festival in our native Duplin County," said Jonathan Fussell, president of Duplin Wine Family and head of the winery's marketing division.
"My brother Dave and I love putting on events that will not only include the Duplin Winery family, but also benefit the families of our nation's military. This festival has been a lot of fun and a big success for the past three years."
"We've always been a family business, and benefiting other families is our way of giving back to the community," says Jonathan Fussell. "We're looking forward to hosting this festival for many years to come."
In addition to its Rose Hill winery, Duplin will be opening its first winery outside North Carolina in North Myrtle Beach, S.C., in late spring.
