"The Greater Goldsboro Road Run has been held annually since 1979," said Scott Edwards, event chairman. "Experience one of the oldest road runs in North Carolina. Make it a family affair with events for all members."
Edwards said the purpose of the road run is to raise money to financially support the youths and children in this area through more than 20 organizations, including scholarships to high school students and students attending Wayne Community College.
"We support Key Club at the local high schools, as well as some of the other organizations that we support, including the North Carolina Boys and Girls Home, Reach Out and Read, Communities in Schools, Wayne County Boys and Girls Club, Young Children Priority and many others," he said.
