Police hunt for clues in shooting, robbery

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred during an attempted robbery Friday.
The shooting took place between 2 and 2:10 p.m., according to a Goldsboro police report.
Carlton Jackson, 24, of Olivia Lane made his own way to Wayne Memorial Hospital after he was shot while walking in the 500 block of North Leslie Street.
Hospital officials then notified Goldsboro police, the report said.
Jackson said he was walking north on North Leslie Street when a black man in a blue hoodie and black bandana tried to rob him.
He said the gunman had a black and brown revolver.
Nothing was taken and the gunman fled south on foot.
