A Goldsboro man is unharmed after the car he was driving was struck by gunfire Monday evening in the intersection of West Grantham Street and North George Street.
The incident took place at 5:55 p.m.
Bruce Kornegay, 58, of Goldsboro, told Goldsboro police he was driving along when he heard several shots fired, according to the police report.
Immediately after the shots, Kornegay heard a "thud" -- a bullet striking the outside of his car -- and he pulled over.
Goldsboro police responded to the scene in the 1000 block of Greenleaf Street and found a bullet lodged in the front right quarter panel of Kornegay's GMC Sonoma.
There were no other reports of shots fired in the area and no one was injured.
The damage to Kornegay's vehicle is estimated at $500, and the investigation is listed as "inactive."
