A car left in a ditch off Claridge Nursery Road Friday led Wayne County sheriff's deputies back to the scene of two residential break-ins that occurred side-by-side, a Sheriff's Office press release said.
One man is in custody.
Austin Tyler Thompson, 18, 114 Laura Lane, is charged with two counts of felony breaking and entering, three counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm, larceny of a motor vehicle, and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $65,000 secured bond.
According to the press release, a patrol corporal found a white Lexus in a ditch and went to check on the driver. He noticed a large quantity of property loaded in the car, and the car was not registered to the driver, Thompson.
Additional deputies went to the home of the person in whose name the vehicle was registered. Once there, the deputies found the residence had been broken into as had a neighbor's residence.
