Suspect charged in vehicle break-ins

The Goldsboro Police Department has a suspect in a series of motor vehicle break-ins under investigation since early November, according to a press release.
Tayvon James Hawkins, 23, 1306 Stephens Court, is charged with three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, two counts of financial card theft, two counts of financial card fraud, two counts of possession of stolen goods and a single count each of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, larceny of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.
Hawkins was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $50,000 secured bond.
The break-ins took place between Nov. 5 and Nov. 17, 2014.
According to the press release, Hawkins was arrested without incident Tuesday at the Wayne County Probation and Parole Office at 301 S. Center St. He is due to appear in court later today.
