Suspects to face marijuana charges

The Wayne County Drug Task Force made two arrests last week, seizing 25 grams of marijuana in the first case and two pounds of the illegal drug in the second.
The first arrest took place Feb. 16 after drug squad officers witnessed a drug transaction take place, a sheriff's office press release said.
The officers conducted a traffic stop and found Lamar Devon Thompson, 21, of 714 S. Slocumb St., in possession of marijuana. Thompson was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on an unsecured bond of $2,500.
The second arrest came on Feb. 20.
While working in the Belfast area, drug squad officers conducted another traffic stop. The smell of marijuana led the officers to conduct a search of the vehicle during which the two pounds of marijuana were discovered, the press release said.
Arba Collon Sullivan, 45, 1309 Ninth St., is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana an possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $7,000 secured.
