Miss Eastern Wayne High School pageant will unfold next weekend

Six contestants will be vying for the title of Miss Eastern Wayne High School 2015 next weekend.

The scholarship pageant will take place Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College.

Sponsored by the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, more than $5,000 in scholarship money will be awarded to the top three winners. Special guests will include Miss Goldsboro 2015, Victoria Baskett, and Miss Eastern Wayne 2014, Allison Dixon.

The emcee for the evening will be Emily Tucker, the reigning Miss Greater Sampson County and former Miss Goldsboro 2014. She is also a 2009 graduate of Eastern Wayne.

Jordan Everett, 17, will dance to "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Pentatonix. The daughter of John and Jennifer Everett, she plans to attend East Carolina University and pursue a master's degree in nursing.

Jessica Lee, 18, will perform a jazz dance to "Crazy in Love" by Emeli Sande and The Bryan Ferry Orchestra. Her plans after high school include enrolling in the University of North Carolina's pre-veterinary program followed by graduate school for veterinary medicine at N.C. State University. Her parents are Eun Lee and Hyun Lee.

Sara Letchworth, 17, will sing "Let it Be," which was made popular by the Beatles. Sara is the daughter of Steve and Athena Letchworth and plans to attend school to major in sociology and minor in social work.

Morgan Magnarella, 18, will perform a jazz dance to "Oh My" by Haley Reinhart & B.o.B. The daughter of Alexandrea and Mark Magnarella plans to attend ECU to major in business management -- and hopes to open her own clothing store one day.

LaQuatia Robinson, 18, will perform a dance to "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit featuring Jess Glynne. After high school, she plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to major in social work and minor in business. She is the daughter of Vatessa Robinson and Bennie Teachey.

Joi Williams, 18, will sing "I Am Changing," which was made popular by Jennifer Hudson. Joi is the daughter of Marion and Deana Williams. She plans to attend UNC-Greensboro to major in psychology and minor in art and then obtain a master's degree from Appalachian State University in art therapy.
