One man is in custody and another on the loose as the Goldsboro Police Department investigates a residential break-in that took place Wednesday on West Lockhaven Drive.
The break-in took place between 8:45 a.m. and 11:35 p.m., Sgt. Jeremy Sutton said.
Brandon Wayne Peoples, 22, 208 Pinewood Drive, is charged with one felony count each of breaking and entering to a building, larceny and possession of stolen property.
Trenton Ray Strickland, 20, 205 Walnut Ridge Drive, is wanted on the same charges, as well as one felony count of obtaining property by false pretense.
According to a GPD press release, Strickland and Peoples broke into the home of Elizabeth Brooks on West Lockhaven Drive and stole an Acer Aspire tablet computer and a Sceptre flat screen television. The combined value of the stolen property came to $700.
"She wasn't there at the time of the break-in. She found it when she got home," Sutton said.
The television was pawned later that day, and Peoples was arrested Thursday attempting to sell the stolen Acer tablet.
Peoples was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $6,000 secured bond.
The search for Strickland is ongoing, and the police are asking the community to pitch in.
"I don't feel like he is considered armed and dangerous or anything like that," Sutton said.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Strickland is asked to contact Investigator J.R. Anderson at the Goldsboro Police Department by calling 919-580-4214.
Callers wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at 919-735-2255, or text tips to 919-222-4230. Information leading to a felony arrest is eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
