A traffic stop conducted Monday resulted in 46 bindles of heroin being taken off the street, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
A bindle is a single dose of heroin.
Ivan Elijah Darden, 27, 108 Brookwood Drive, is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of a controlled substance. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $4,000 bond.
The traffic stop was initiated after members of the Wayne County Drug Squad began an investigation into heroin dealing based on citizen-driven complaints.
During the stop, the officers seized both heroin and heroin packaging materials used for selling the drug on the street, a press release said.
During the course of the investigation, the officers were then led back to Darden's residence where more heroin was seized.
Darden is due to appear in Wayne County District Court Feb. 27
