Traffic stop leads to drug charges

A Goldsboro man is charged with selling marijuana after a traffic stop conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office Aggressive Crime Enforcement Team Jan. 3.

James Christopher Smith, 24, of 302 Sherwood Circle is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana.

According to a sheriff's office press release, ACE Team officers were working in the Dudley area and Deputy Travis Sparks ended up stopping Smith's car. During the investigation, marijuana and other illegal items were found inside the vehicle.

Smith's bond was set at $2,000 unsecured. He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County District Court Jan. 20.
