Investigators with the Goldsboro Police Department have positively identified the man they say shot and critically wounded a Goldsboro man outside an East Ash Street convenience store Christmas Eve.
Christopher Dre Myatt, 22, of 9224 Old Cascade Drive, Garner, is wanted in connection with the attempted first-degree murder of Daniel Clark, 44.
According to the initial report, police responding to a shots fired call Dec. 24 found Clark outside the Skylight Mini-Mart at 720 E. Ash St. He had been shot several times. Bullets also struck the front windows of the business.
Clark was transported by Wayne County EMS to Wayne Memorial Hospital then airlifted to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville where police say he was initially listed in critical condition.
Clark's condition improved to stable within the next couple days.
Police began with very little information but later released two images taken from video footage recovered from the store's security cameras showing a man they first identified as a person of interest.
Since the release of those photographs, investigators were able to identify the man as Myatt and to secure warrants for his arrest.
Now they need help finding him.
Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Myatt is asked to contact the Goldsboro Police Department at 919-580-4212 and ask to speak to Investigator C.A. Melvin.
