Gang conference to be held Monday

MOUNT OLIVE -- The ninth annual Eastern North Carolina Gang Conference will be held Monday at the University of Mount Olive.
The training begins at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m. and will be held in the Southern Bank Auditorium in the Raper Building 634 Henderson St.
U.S. Attorney Thomas G. Walker said the conference is being sponsored by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina along with a host of partners representing law enforcement agencies, social service providers and school systems.
More than 250 law enforcement professionals are expected to attend.
The program will consist of topics targeting gang prevention and intervention.
Also to be discussed is the prevention of violent extremism and foreign fighter recruitment.
