GRANTHAM -- The public's help is being sought by Grantham Grange No. 968 in a project to reproduce all vintage Grantham High School yearbooks. Copies will be placed in the new Grantham School, which is now under construction.

The books would provide valuable information for younger students allowing them to view photographs ad read firsthand of the activities of their parents and grandparents, Grange President Bobby Crawford said.

Over the years, some of the original books might have been damaged or lost, he said.

Copies of the books would make an "appropriate" gift, Crawford said.

"Therefore the Grange, on a one-time printing, is offering copies for the public," Crawford said.

The cost will be $20, about the  actual cost of publication, he said. It is a public service, not a money-making project, he said.

Shipping is $2 for in-state and $4 for out-of-state.

There is no additional charge if the book is picked up at the Grange headquarters in Grantham.

Yearbooks were published for 1950 and for 1953 through 1965. No annuals were published for 1952 and 1953.

Copies may be ordered by contacting Crawford at 919-689-3135 or by mailing payment, long with the year(s) and number(s) wanted to Bobby Crawford, 135 Stevens Church Road, Goldsboro, NC 27530.

Requests should be made prior to Jan. 15.
