Linda Bizzell, of Hope of Glory International Ministries, helps Elijah Phillips, 8, pack up the meal that the church provided for him and his family during the annual community feeding event held Saturday.

Hope of Glory International Ministries fed 150 people Saturday during their annual Holiday Dinner event.

The group provided a full meal, including turkey, collards and stuffing, to anyone who came to the Madison Avenue location.

In the past two years, they have served nearly 200 people in the community, which include plates delivered to senior citizens and Fairview Housing.

Pastor Lori Jones said the event could not be done each year without the help of other people in the community contributing to and supporting the ministry's goals.

"I would like to thank Mr. Michael Pendergrade of Carlie C's IGA and Mr. Daniel Norris and manger of McDonald's on Wayne Memorial Drive for the support in the last four years to make our annual Holiday Dinner a success for the community here at 604 N. Madison Ave. They have come through every year with providing us with the items to serve the people," pastor Jones said.

Hope of Glory also has two clothes giveaways a year, in addition to the annual Holiday Dinner.

"The mission of Hope of Glory is to help assist in the needs of the whole man physically, spiritually, and way of clothes giveaway, meals and the truth of God's word throughout the Holy scripture with love."

"We are small in number, but God blesses the little to be much when you put it in His hands," pastor Jones said.

Hope of Glory is continuing to accept donations and support from the surrounding community to assist those in need. For more information about how to donate to Hope of Glory's community assistance programs, call 919-947-0891.
