Christmas parade route altered

Goldsboro's annual Christmas parade will be held Saturday with a slightly different route due to construction on Center Street.
The parade will circulate around Center, Mulberry, John and Spruce streets. The following areas will be closed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6:
James Street, from Elm Street to Chestnut Street; John Street, from Elm Street to Ash Street; Mulberry Street, from James Street to William Street; Chestnut Street, from James Street to William Street; Spruce Street, from George Street to William Street; and Center Street, from Elm Street to Spruce Street.
The parade will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. It will begin near Cornerstone Commons on South Center Street, move north on Center Street to the traffic circle at Ash Street, turn around and head back down Center until it intersects with Mulberry Street. At that point, the parade will turn left onto Mulberry Street, go one block, then turn right on John Street and proceed south back to Spruce Street, where it will turn right and proceed back to its starting point.
