A 15-year-old Charles B. Aycock High School student was tased after a fight broke out this morning before the school day started, officials said.
Ken Derksen, director of communication services for Wayne County Public Schools, said the incident was being investigated by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, but confirmed that three male students were involved in the altercation.
"The SRO (school resource officer) got involved to break them up and was unable to separate the students," he said.
The officer reportedly used a taser on the youngest of the students, Derksen said.
"The other two students were aged 17 and 18," he said. "All three students will be charged."
The Sheriff's Office could not provide any further information before press time.
