Woman fights off home invader

A Goldsboro woman fought off an attacker who forced his way into her home and assaulted her Wednesday at 10 a.m.
According to a Goldsboro police report, Ancila Shantel Smith, 21, of 1710 B Edgerton St., answered a knock at the back door of her residence and a man forced his way inside.
Ms. Smith was able to fight the intruder off, the report said.
Her relationship, if any, to the attacker is unknown.
The suspect, described as a black man 6 feet tall weighing approximately 200 pounds and wearing a red jacket, fled in an unknown direction.
Maj. Al King said a pair of investigators have been assigned to the case and will begin their investigation today.
The attacker was not armed, according to the information gathered so far, he said.
