Four armed men rob man in lot

Four armed men assaulted and robbed a Goldsboro man outside an auto repair shop on North Virginia Street early today.
Lance Paul Casey, 45, of Emmitte Drive, told police he was beaten and robbed in the parking lot of Magnum Inc., 609 N. Virginia St., at 1:50 a.m., according to a Goldsboro police report.
Casey said the four black men with firearms approached him and demanded money, the report said.
The men took $3 in cash and several bank and identification cards from Casey, as well as his cell phone, before assaulting him with their hands, according to the report.
The men also went through his car and took property, then fled on foot.
The value of the stolen property is listed on the report at $270.
The men are all described as black males, one of them approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and of average weight and build. He wore a white jacket and black jeans, the report said.
The rest of the men wore dark clothing, according to the report. The investigation is ongoing.
