A Dudley couple face charges of purchasing pseudoephedrine for the manufacture of methamphetamine, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said.
Christopher Edward Ward, 33, and Ashley Widener, 25, are charged with a single count each of possession and distribution of a meth precursor. Ward's bond has been set at $10,000 secured, and Mrs. Widener was given a bond of $5,000 secured.
According to a press release issued Friday, the Goldsboro/Wayne Interagency Drug Task Force and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation continue to investigate the illegal manufacture and distribution of methamphetamine in and around Wayne County.
Investigators determined Ward and Mrs. Widener were purchasing and distributing pseudoephedrine, and placed them under arrest.
Both Ward and Mrs. Widener are due to appear in Wayne County District Court Monday.
