On Monday, Sept. 8, at 3 a.m., Ava Smith of the 1100 block of Porter Street in Goldsboro reported to the Goldsboro Police Department that she heard someone throwing something at her bedroom as if to get her attention.
When she looked out her window, she saw a subject known as Ontario Martin standing in her back yard and he was asking her to come downstairs. As Ms. Smith headed downstairs, she heard shots being fired. When Smith went outside, she found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound.
