Man hurt in morning knife fight

One man is in custody and another is in Vidant Medical Center in Greenville after an early morning fight on North Carolina Street in Goldsboro.
Corea Shelton Pearsall, 36, 409 B N. Carolina St., was driven by personal vehicle to Wayne Memorial Hospital with a knife wound.
He was later transported to Vidant for further treatment, Goldsboro police Maj. Al King said.
The incident took place at 4:15 a.m.
Goldsboro police were called to the area of 409 N. Carolina St. and spoke with Toney Allen Moses, 49, of 501 E. Elm St.
According to the police report, Moses told officers he was fighting with Pearsall when he was stabbed.
Moses was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment, and investigators set about speaking to witnesses.
During the course of their investigation, police found it was Moses who allegedly stabbed Pearsall.
Moses is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He has been placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
