Because of limited parking at Thursday's groundbreaking ceremonies for Wayne County's two new middle schools, a shuttle service will be provided if needed.
The groundbreaking for the new Grantham Middle School will be held at 9:30 a.m. at 3054 U.S. 13 South, just east of the existing school. The overflow parking lot will be at Grantham School, 174 Grantham School Road, Grantham.
The Spring Creek Middle School ceremony will start at 11 a.m. at 3563 N.C. 111 South, just east of Spring Creek High School.
The overflow lot will be at Spring Creek High School, 4340 Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs.
People planning to park and ride to the school construction sites should be ready to board the shuttle buses no later than 15 minutes prior to the events.
The groundbreaking ceremonies are open to the public.
Both new schools are scheduled to open for the 2015-16 school year.
